The effects of repeated Ozurdex injections on ocular hypertension
Clinical Ophthalmology Apr 11, 2018
Bahadorani S, et al. - Authors correlated the degree of ocular hypertension with the number of Ozurdex injections. Uveitis, diabetic macular edema, and retinal vein occlusion were the main indications for treatment. Findings suggested that the frequency of intraocular pressure (IOP) spikes was not increased beyond 30 mmHg with multiple Ozurdex injections, but patients still ought to be closely monitored if they had a history of primary open-angle glaucoma. Nonetheless, a positive correlation existed for lower IOPs. Also, the highest IOP response to repeated injections was seen in the patients with primary open angle glaucoma and uveitis.
