Mohseni S, et al. - The effects of probiotic supplementation on wound healing and metabolic status in subjects with diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) were assessed in this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. Among subjects with DFU, probiotic supplementation for 12 weeks had beneficial effects on ulcer size, glycemic control, total cholesterol, high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), plasma nitric oxide (NO), total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels.
