The effects of movement stimulation on activities of daily living performance and quality of life in nursing home residents with dementia: A randomized controlled trial
Clinical Interventions in Aging May 10, 2018
Henskens M, et al. - Authors sought to assess the impact of three movement-stimulating interventions on quality of life (QoL) and activities of daily living (ADL) performance in nursing home (NH) residents with dementia. Dementia severity was classified using the Global Deterioration Scale. ADL training can improve QoL and facets QoL, including care relationship, positive self-image, and feeling at home vs usual care. No improvement on QoL was seen with a combined ADL and exercise intervention, and no effects were seen with the three movement interventions on ADL performance.
