Ahn SH, et al. - In this cross-sectional data of a prospective multicenter study from Korea, authors assessed the consequences of cortisol and adrenal androgen on bone mass in Asians with and without subclinical hypercortisolism (SH). They observed that pre- and postmenopausal females with SH had a lower bone mineral density (BMD) at lumbar spine (LS) in comparison to those with non-functional adrenal incidentaloma (AI) (NFAI). They noticed positive associations of dehydroepiandrosterone-sulfate (DHEA-S) with LS BMD in postmenopausal females and men as well.
