American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology Sep 04, 2020
Reicher L, Gamzu R, Fouks Y, et al. - Researchers sought for determine the optimal interpregnancy interval after a single pregnancy loss via performing a retrospective cohort study of 107 women who had a spontaneous miscarriage in the first trimester of pregnancy followed by a subsequent pregnancy with an interpregnancy interval of < 12 weeks. Women who conceived before the first menstrual period following a spontaneous miscarriage had recurrent miscarriage rate of 10.4% vs 15.8% in those who conceived after. Outcomes revealed no adverse maternal or neonatal outcomes in association with conception shortly after a spontaneous miscarriage without waiting for at least the first postmiscarriage menstrual period compared with those of women with similar interpregnancy intervals who conceived after their next menstrual period.
