Dai Z, et al. - Researchers sought to determine the safety and efficacy of tranexamic acid (TA) on off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) surgery, focusing on blood loss and transfusion. They found that use of TA resulted in attenuation in the probability of receiving a packed red blood cells [PRBCs] and fresh frozen plasma [FFP] transfusion during OPCAB surgery, without any association with postoperative death and thrombotic events.
