The effect of sedation and/or analgesia as rescue treatment during noninvasive positive pressure ventilation in the patients with Interface intolerance after Extubation

Ni YN, et al. - A retrospective study was performed to assess whether sedation and/or analgesia as rescue treatment during noninvasive positive pressure ventilation could benefit the clinical outcome of the patients with interface intolerance after extubation. Findings suggested the potential of sedation and/or analgesia treatment in decreasing the rate of noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) failure, hospital mortality rate and length of intensive care unit stay (ICU LOS) in these patients.
