International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Jul 26, 2019

Özdemir D, et al. - In this investigation involving 24 male Sprague-Dawley rats, weighing 250–300 grams, researchers determined the impacts of rosmarinic acid as an antioxidant on experimentally induced myringosclerosis, commonly occurs during otitis media treatment as a long-term complication of ventilation. Investigators found that rosmarinic acid local and oral administration suppressed inflammation, reduced tympanic membrane thickness and prevented myringosclerosis from occurring in myringotomized rats.
