The effect of pregnancy on disease activity in patients with psoriatic arthritis
The Journal of Rheumatology Dec 14, 2018
Berman M, et al. - Researchers conducted a retrospective case series to assess the impact of pregnancy on disease activity in psoriatic arthritis (PsA). They enrolled 25 women with PsA (out of 107 women of reproductive age followed up in our PsA clinics) and 35 pregnancies. Findings suggested an association of continuation of biologics therapy with a low level of disease activity and a low probability of flare during pregnancy. They noted a correlation of stopping treatment with biologics before pregnancy with flare during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
