Düzenli U, et al. - In this prospective study, researchers analyzed the surgical results of the underlay tympanoplasty performed with nitrous oxide (N₂O) anesthesia. For this investigation, they included patients who had tympanoplasty. Using the underlay technique, a type 1 tympanoplasty was performed in all patients. There were 44 patients receiving N₂O and 44 not receiving N₂O. According to findings, N₂O is an anesthetic agent that is cheap, safe and readily available that provides acceptable success rates in patients undergoing tympanoplasty.
