The effect of montelukast on early life wheezing: A randomized, double-blinded placebo-controlled study

Keskin O, et al. - This study analyzed symptomatology during the early-life wheezing illness in association with treatment with a cysteinyl-leukotriene-1 receptor antagonist. Factors affecting the response to this drug were also explored. Findings revealed that treatment of early-life wheezing with montelukast may effectively result in reduced caregiver observed wheezing and attenuated need for salbutamol during the first week of treatment.
