The effect of milk consumption on acne: A meta-analysis of observational studies
Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Aug 09, 2018
Dai R, et al. - In this meta-analysis of available data, experts assessed the correlation between milk consumption and acne risk. They noted a stronger association in skim milk consumers vs in low-fat and full-fat consumers, as seen on subgroup analysis on milk forms. For high intake level of milk, the pooled odds ratio was greater vs medium intake level of milk. A positive association of acne with milk consumption was seen on a subset study of moderate to severe acne, while they did not note any statistically significant correlation between mild acne risk and milk consumption. Overall, milk consumption was seen to be positively associated with acne risk.
