The effect of loteprednol suspension eye drops after corneal transplantation
BMC Ophthalmology Jun 01, 2021
Chen Y, Wang X, Gao M, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for comparing the impact of loteprednol suspension eye drops after corneal transplantation with the effect of prednisolone acetate eye drops. In total, 234 patients (234 eyes) who had penetrating keratoplasty and lamellar keratoplasty were retrospectively involved. When compared with the IOP increase induced by 1 % prednisolone acetate eye drops, treatment with 0.5 % loteprednol suspension dye drops reduced the increase in the IOP 6 months postoperatively; vision loss and incidence of postoperative rejection were not different between the two eye drop treatments. As a result, long-term usage of 0.5 % loteprednol suspension eye drops after corneal transplantation may be recommended.
