The effect of gastric Helicobacter pylori colonization on nasal functions
ENT Journal Jul 21, 2019
Kumral TL, et al. - In this investigation involving 100 patients, researchers studied the impact of gastric Helicobacter pylori colonization on nasal functions. Participants in the study were patients who underwent endoscopy for gastroesophageal reflux disease. By Reflux Symptom Index and Reflux Finding Score (RFS), patients with laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) were identified. Investigators found that nasal functions differed only between LPR and gastroesophageal reflux disease, whereas H pylori colonization density in the gastric mucosa had an effect on nasal function.
