Libeert D, et al. - This study was designed to gain clarity regarding the long-term impact of enteral tube feeding (ETF) in cystic fibrosis (CF). Improved body mass index z-score and stabilized forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) were reported as the consequences of ETF introduction. Additionally, associated less hospitalizations and intravenous antibiotic treatments were also apparent. Owing to higher mortality and transplantation reported in the ETF cases, leading to drop-outs, it was difficult to determine the effect size.
