Han YY, et al. - In a study sample comprising U.S. children and adults, the relation between the diet's inflammatory potential, measured by the Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII), and current asthma, current wheeze, and lung function was examined. Increased odds of current wheeze were observed in relation to a proinflammatory diet, assessed by the DII, among adults and children with allergic (atopic) wheeze. Testing dietary interventions as part of asthma management was supported.
