The diagnostic value of D-dimer in acute aortic dissection: A meta-analysis
Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery Dec 02, 2021
Yao J, Bai T, Yang B, et al. - This meta-analysis suggests an excellent diagnostic value of D-dimer for acute aortic dissection (AAD).
From PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Wanfang databases, researchers enrolled a total of 16 clinical studies including 1,135 patients.
D-dimer had an excellent pooled sensitivity making it a valuable tool for identifying suspected AAD.
At D-dimer levels ≤ 500 ng/ml, it had a significantly increased sensitivity in identifying the suspected patients with AAD.
