The diagnostic value of 4D MRI at 3T for the localization of parathyroid adenomas
European Journal of Radiology Feb 22, 2019
Ozturk M, et al. - In this retrospective study involving 41 patients with surgically proven parathyroid lesions, researchers evaluated the feasibility of four-dimensional magnetic resonance imaging (4D MRI) at 3 T for the localization of parathyroid adenomas. The combined use of MRI with US or 99mTc-sestamibi results in higher sensitivity vs using US or 99mTc-sestamibi individually. Rapid arterial enhancement contributed moderately to the discovery of a lesion. The data presented in this work showed a reliable method for the localization of parathyroid adenomas was 4D MRI with dynamic contrast-enhanced sequencing.
