The diagnostic and predictive efficacy of 18 F-FDG PET/CT metabolic parameters for EGFR mutation status in non-small-cell lung cancer: A meta-analysis
European Journal of Radiology Jun 01, 2021
Guo Y, Zhu H, Yao Z, et al. - This study was undertaken to explore the predictive performance of the maximum standardized uptake value (SUV max ) and mean standardized uptake value (SUV mean) of primary lesions based on 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18 F-FDG PET/CT) for epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation status in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Researchers enrolled 18 studies that had a total of 4,024 patients. They carried out searches of PubMed/Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases as of January 1, 2021. They estimated pooled sensitivity, specificity, and area under the summary receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC). Via meta-regression, the possible causes of heterogeneity were examined. The findings suggested that SUV max and SUV mean of primary lesions from 18 F-FDG PET/CT harboured moderate predictive efficacy for the EGFR mutation status of NSCLC.
