The correlation between endolymphatic hydrops and clinical features of Meniere disease
The Laryngoscope Dec 17, 2020
Zhang W, Hui L, Zhang B, et al. - Researchers conducted this prospective study to examine the grades of endolymphatic hydrops determined by gadolinium‐contrast magnetic resonance (MR) and correlation to the clinical features in patients with Meniere disease. In total, 24 patients suffering from unilateral Meniere disease with either definite or probable clinical diagnosis were involved. Grades of endolymphatic hydrops might be assessed by visualizing the endolymph and perilymph of inner ear in patients with Meniere disease assisted with intravenous injection of double doses of gadobutrol. As a consequence, in patients with Meniere disease, the grades of endolymphatic hydrops can be used to predict the level of hearing impairment.
