The comparison of inflammation-based prognostic scores in patients with extrahepatic bile duct cancer after pancreaticoduodenectomy
Journal of Surgical Research Apr 09, 2019
Fujiwara Y, et al. - In patients with distal extrahepatic bile duct cancer after pancreaticoduodenectomy, researchers investigated the implication of inflammation-based prognostic scores in addition to determining the most useful score for these patients. For both disease-free and overall survival in univariate analysis, Glasgow prognostic score (GPS), mGPS, C-reactive protein/Alb ratio score, prognostic index, and preoperative monocyte count were identified as significant risk factors after assessing 121 patients. Findings suggest the independent significance of GPS score for tumor recurrence and prognosis in these patients; this score was considered superior to the other prognostic scores.
