Akashi N, et al. - A comparative scrutiny was pursued of the clinical outcomes of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) on hemodialysis vs off hemodialysis. Higher morbidity and mortality were disclosed among patients with AMI in the case of advanced CKD off hemodialysis when compared to advanced CKD on chronic hemodialysis. A close link was revealed between advanced CKD off hemodialysis with long hospitalization even after controlling clinical factors.
