Respiratory Research Mar 30, 2021
Wen J, Su Y, Sun H, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for identifying the biomarkers for anticipating refractory Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia in Chinese children at the time of the hospital admission. They retrospectively analyzed the clinical features and laboratory results of Chinese pediatric patients presenting with common and refractory Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (CMPP and RMPP). There were 216 cases in the CMPP group and 88 cases in the RMPP group in total. According to this case-control study, in the settings of pediatric emergency department, serum ferritin, D-dimer, and C-reactive protein are statistically important biomarkers for predicting RMPP in Chinese children patients.
