The clinicopathological and prognostic value of hypoxia-inducible factor-2α in cancer patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention Jan 09, 2019
Luo D, et al. - In this meta-analysis, the authors assessed 854 studies with 4,345 subjects to examine the connection between hypoxia-inducible factor-2α (HIF-2α) status and clinical consequence in human cancer. They observed a negative influence of increased expression of HIF-2α on overall survival (OS) of such cases. They also found an association of tumor differentiation, tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage, and lymph metastasis with HIF-2α overexpression. They showed poor prognosis and clinicopathological traits of tumors could be indicated by HIF-2α. They also implied that it might serve as a different biomarker in human cancer.
