The clinical significance of hepatic CD69+CD103+CD8+ resident memory T cells in autoimmune hepatitis
Hepatology Feb 12, 2021
You Z, Li Y, Wang Q, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for analyzing the clinical significance of hepatic CD69 + CD103 + CD8 + resident memory T cells in autoimmune hepatitis. CD69 +CD103 +CD8 + TRM cells are reported to be significantly higher in the liver of patients with AIH vs chronic hepatitis B, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and healthy control tissues. There was also a significant statistical association between elevation of CD8+ TRM cells and severity of AIH disease. The data indicate that CD8+ TRM cells play a critical role in AIH pathogenesis, and by direct inhibition of CD8+ TRM cell expansion, glucocorticoids attenuate hepatic inflammation.
