The clinical significance and biological function of PCDH7 in cervical cancer
Cancer Management and Research May 16, 2021
Zhang S, et al. - Researchers investigated the expression as well as mechanism of protocadherin 7 (PCDH7) in cervical cancer and also assessed its clinical prognostic significance. They found notably downregulated expression of PCDH7 in cervical cancer tissues and cell lines vs the corresponding control. A low survival rate was observed in relation to low PCDH7 expression. There was a correlation of PCDH7 expression with lymph node metastasis, cell differentiation, and FIGO staging. Because of PCDH7 upregulation, a significant inhibition of the proliferation ability, migration potential, and invasion capacity of cancer cells occurred. In the light of findings of this study, experts suggest the likely utility of PCDH7 as a prognostic biomarker for cervical cancer cases.
