Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology May 23, 2018
Kim DB, et al. - In this prospective study, the researchers attempted to examine the prevalence and characteristics of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) in patients with gallstone disease. They assessed two hundred sixty-five patients for gallstone disease (200, gallstones; 65, cholecystectomy) and 39 healthy controls. They performed laboratory data, abdominal ultrasonography, and glucose breath test (GBT) with bowel symptom questionnaire.
