Shahan CP, et al. - The use of endovascular stents for blunt cerebrovascular injuries (BCVIs) and outcomes are examined. Researchers also describe which injuries are being treated with stents. For the majority of BCVI, they observe anticoagulation alone as adequate therapy. Although, in the treatment of BCVI, there is still a role for endovascular stents. They recommended their use to be reserved for enlarging carotid pseudoaneurysms and dissections with significant narrowing.
