The CHADS-VASc score is a predictor of no-reflow in patients with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction
Coronary Artery Disease Dec 18, 2019
Barman HA, Kahyaoglu S, Durmaz E, et al. - Among patients with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), researchers examined the association between the CHA2DS2-VASc score and no-reflow (NR) phenomena. In this study, they examined 428 consecutive patients with NSTEMI. Two groups of patients were defined based on their post-PCI, no-reflow status: those with NR, NR(+) (n = 84), and those without NR, NR(-) (n = 307). They found that the NR(+) group vs the NR(-) exhibited significantly higher CHA2DS2-VASc score. The factors that independently predicted NR were a higher CHA2DS2-VASc score, hs-Troponin and TTG, as revealed after a multivariate regression analysis. Findings revealed a higher risk of no-reflow in relation to CHA2DS2-VASc score in patients with NSTEMI undergoing PCI.
