The asthma-rhinitis multimorbidity is associated with IgE polysensitization in adolescents and adults
Allergy Jan 19, 2018
Siroux V, et al. - In this study, adults and adolescents were examined for IgE sensitization patterns towards a broad panel of aeroallergen components, with a focus on individuals with asthma and rhinitis multimorbidity. Researchers found that the asthma-rhinitis (A+R+) phenotype combined the sensitization pattern of both the rhinitis alone (A-R+) and asthma alone (A+R-) phenotypes. This multimorbid polysensitized phenotype may be related to specific mechanisms and seemed to be generalizable to various ages and allergenic environments.
