The associations between weight-related anthropometrics during childhood and lung function in late childhood: A retrospective cohort study
BMC Pulmonary Medicine Jan 25, 2018
Byberg KK, et al. - An association between body weight in childhood and subsequent lung function and asthma has been suggested, but few longitudinal studies exist. This current investigation was pursued to look at the link between weight-related anthropometric measurements through childhood and lung function in late childhood. A possible impact of weight-related anthropometrics through childhood on lung function in late childhood was suggested in this work. These findings may be physiological or associated with air flow limitation. In addition, a differential impact on lung function in normal-weight and overweight children was suggested by the observed inverse U-shaped links.
