The association of serum free light chains with mortality and progression to end-stage renal disease in chronic kidney disease: Systematic review and individual patient data meta-analysis
Mayo Clinic Proceedings | Nov 10, 2017
Fraser SDS, et al. - The intent of the researchers was to clarify the correlations between polyclonal serum free light chain (sFLC) levels and adverse outcomes in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). An independent link was brought to light between higher levels of sFLCs with a higher risk of mortality and end-stage renal disease in the study cohort. FIn order to inspect the biological role of sFLCs in adverse outcomes in CKD, and their use in risk stratification, additional exploration was required.
