The association of allergic rhinitis severity with neutrophil–lymphocyte and platelet–lymphocyte ratio in adults
European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology Sep 27, 2019
Göker AE, Ekincioglu E, Alagöz MH, et al. - Among 209 allergic rhinitis (AR) patients and 243 healthy people, researchers explored the relationship of AR severity with neutrophil-lymphocyte and platelet–lymphocyte ratios. Data reported that the neutrophil–lymphocyte ratio was 1.70 ± 0.65 in the healthy group and 2.02 ± 1.24 in the patient group and the platelet–lymphocyte ratio result was 100.85 ± 25.33 in the healthy group and 120.67 ± 40.59 in the patient group. In patients with moderate–severe AR, the neutrophil–lymphocyte and the platelet–lymphocyte ratios were higher. For diagnosis of persistent AR, both neutrophil–lymphocyte and platelet–lymphocyte ratios are helpful markers. These markers may be used by specialists to evaluate the severity of the disease at the start of the diagnostic process.
