The association of a low glycaemic index diet in pregnancy with child body composition at 5 years of age: A secondary analysis of the ROLO study
Pediatric Obesity Jun 07, 2021
Callanan S, Yelverton CA, Geraghty AA, et al. - Researchers aimed at determining if and how a low glycaemic index diet during pregnancy is associated with offspring anthropometry at 5 years of age. They conducted a secondary analysis of 387 children from the ROLO pregnancy study 5 years' post-intervention. They identified no evidence indicating an impact of a low glycaemic index diet in pregnancy on offspring anthropometry 5 years' post-intervention. Hence, they did not support modulating maternal carbohydrate quality in pregnancy to be an appropriate strategy to improve weight status in childhood.
