Knutsson B, et al. - The link between tobacco smoking and surgical intervention for lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) was explored in this study. An association between tobacco smoking and increased incidence of surgically treated LSS was revealed in the findings. Furthermore, the impact seemed to be dose-related, whereby relative to moderate or former smokers, heavy smokers had a higher risk.
