The association between race/ethnicity and outcomes following primary shoulder arthroplasty
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Nov 27, 2019
Garcia IV, et al. - An integrated healthcare system's registry was utilized to recognize people who underwent elective primary (total or reverse) shoulder arthroplasty from 2005 to 2016 (n = 8,360 procedures) in order to assess racial/ethnic differences in adverse postoperative events within a universally insured shoulder arthroplasty cohort in an integrated healthcare system. It was discovered that minority groups had a revision and unplanned readmission risks that were alike to or lower compared with those of white individuals. Nevertheless, a greater probability of ED visits was noted in black individuals.
