The association between platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio with mortality among patients suffering from acute decompensated heart failure
BMC Cardiovascular Disorders Sep 23, 2021
Heidarpour M, Bashiri S, Vakhshoori M, et al. - Findings showed that platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), an inflammation index, could not be employed as an independent prognostic factor among patients suffering from acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF).
This retrospective cohort study involved 405 Iranian individuals with ADHF, with mean age 65.9 ± 13.49 years (males: 67.7%).
No significant association was found between PLR status and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) mortality or re-hospitalization.
A minimally decreased probability of CVDs death in 2nd quartile vs the first one (hazard ratio 0.40) was revealed in multivariate analysis of PLR quartiles.
Creatinine increase had no remarkable association with PLR status in neither model.
