The association between orthostatic hypotension and dementia: A meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies
International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry Sep 28, 2018
Min M, et al. - Researchers conducted this meta-analysis of five prospective cohort studies to assess the association of orthostatic hypotension (OH) with dementia. They searched electronic databases, including Chinese Biomedical Database, PubMed, Web of Science, Wiley Online Library, ScienceDirect, and the Cochrane Library, for eligible studies. Findings revealed a positive association between OH and the overall prevalence of dementia, and there was additional evidence to suggest that OH may also contribute to the prevalence of Alzheimer disease and vascular dementia.
