The association between high birth weight and the risks of childhood CNS tumors and leukemia: An analysis of a US case-control study in an epidemiological database
BMC Cancer Oct 20, 2017
Tran LT, et al. - Using data obtained from a case-control study conducted among three states from the US, researchers analyzed the association between high birth weight and the risks of childhood central nervous system (CNS) tumors and leukemia. An elevated childhood CNS tumor risk was observed among high-birth weight (BW) and large for gestational age (LGA) children. In the normal BW range, the BW itself seemed to have a positive correlation with CNS tumor risk. There appeared no considerable association between BW and childhood leukemia risk in this study.
