The application value of MRI in the diagnosis of subclinical inflammation in patients with rheumatoid arthritis in remission
Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research Jul 08, 2018
Zhang H, et al. - Authors gauged the value of MRI in the diagnosis of subclinical inflammation in patients with early rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in remission and to predict the radiographic progression. They included a total of 76 of 156 patients with early RA in remission at 1 year and with available magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data at baseline and at 12 months. In patients with sustained remission, persistent subclinical inflammations were demonstrated. In patients with persistent clinical remission, a strong predictor of future radiographic progression of bone erosions could be bone marrow edema (BME) in MRI.
