The antipyretic efficacy and safety of propacetamol compared with dexibuprofen in febrile children: A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, comparative, phase 3 clinical trial
BMC Pediatrics Jun 28, 2018
Choi SJ, et al. - Among children with upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) presenting with fever, the researchers compared the antipyretic efficacy, safety, and tolerability between oral dexibuprofen and intravenous propacetamol. Participants in the study were patients aging from 6 months to 14 years admitted for URTI with axillary body temperature ≥ 38.0 °C. An aggregate of 263 subjects was finally recruited. The findings from the present study suggested that intravenous propacetamol could be a harmless and effective choice for pediatric URTI patients presenting with fever for whom oral antipyretics cannot be administered or need faster fever control.
