Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation | Oct 04, 2017
Torres-Costoso A, et al. - This study assessed the accuracy of inlet and outlet ultrasonography measurements for the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Findings revealed that both ultrasonography measurements demonstrated sufficient accuracy for their use in clinical settings, though the overall accuracy was slightly higher for inlet versus for outlet level measurements. Importantly, the diagnostic accuracy did not increase by the addition of outlet and inlet measurements. Overall, the inlet level ultrasonography measurement appeared to be an appropriate method for the diagnosis of CTS.
