The accuracy of incremental pre-operative breast MRI findings – Concordance with histopathology in the Swedish randomized multicenter POMB trial
European Journal of Radiology Apr 23, 2019
Karlsson A, et al. - Researchers evaluated 210 patients taking part in the Pre-Operative MRI of the Breast (POMB) trial who underwent pre-operative breast MRI to assess the performance of pre-operative breast MRI with respect to incremental MRI findings (over conventional breast imaging methods) and their concordance with histopathology. For statistical analysis, a total number of 99 incremental findings in 78 patients were eligible after exclusions. Outcomes suggest that in the pre-operative setting, relevant and highly accurate information could be gained by performing breast MRI and evaluating it together with conventional breast imaging methods.
