Cury RG, et al. – Here, the clinicians describe the long–term outcomes of deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the thalamic ventral intermediate nucleus (VIM) in Parkinson's disease (PD), essential tremor (ET), and dystonic tremor. For tremor in PD and ET, VIM DBS is an effective long–term (beyond 10 years) treatment. As per the outcomes, effects on dystonic tremor are modest and transient.
