Texture analysis of native T1 images as a novel method for noninvasive assessment of uremic cardiomyopathy
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Feb 26, 2021
Zhou H, An DA, Ni Z, et al. - A case-control study was performed to evaluate the application of the texture analysis (TA) of T1 images in the assessment of myocardial alterations in dialysis patients. Researchers included a total of 117 individuals, including 22 on hemodialysis, 44 on peritoneal dialysis, and 51 healthy controls. They conducted multivariate linear regressions to evaluate the independent relationships between the selected texture features and left ventricular function in dialysis patients. Via sensitivity and specificity, texture features' performance in discrimination was assessed. They calculated reproducibility by the intraclass correlation coefficient. The results of this study demonstrated that texture features obtained by TA of T1 images and vertical run‐length nonuniformity may be a better parameter for evaluating myocardial alterations than T1 times.
