Testosterone does not affect agrin cleavage in mobility-limited older men despite improvement in physical function
Journal of Andrology Oct 04, 2017
Gagliano-Juca T, et al. - This research was formulated in order to figure out the consequence of testosterone administration on circulating C-terminal agrin fragment (CAF) levels in mobility-limited men with low testosterone aged 65 or older. It was inferred that the testosterone therapy in mobility-limited older men with low to low-normal testosterone levels did not reduce the serum CAF levels. The yielded improvements in muscle strength and physical function did not exhibit any link with the variations in serum CAF concentrations. These improvements in physical function with testosterone replacement in older men with mobility limitations and elevated CAF levels underwent mediations via mechanisms other than stabilization of the neuromuscular junction (NMJ).
