Ten-year results of FLEx refractive surgery
Journal of Refractive Surgery Nov 22, 2019
Blum M, et al. - In this long-term follow-up of a prospective clinical trial, researchers assessed the 10-year outcomes of femtosecond lenticule extraction (FLEx) for treatment of myopia and myopic astigmatism. This investigation was carried out at HELIOS Klinikum Erfurt and Phillips University of Marburg, Germany. One hundred eight eyes underwent the FLEx procedure in 2006. All participants were requested for reexamination 10 years after FLEx treatment for myopia and astigmatism. In total, 40 patients (77 eyes), mean age was 45.9 years, of the original treatment group volunteered for a reexamination 10 years after surgery. Regression was 0.18 D over the 10-year period. Ten years after treatment for myopia and astigmatism, FLEx has good outcomes.
