Teledermoscopy images acquired in primary health care and hospital settings - A comparative study of image quality
Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Sep 01, 2017
Gyllencreutz JD, et al. – The quality of the dermoscopic images of a smartphone teledermoscopy (TDS) system was examined. This was done through a comparison of the TDS referral images with images of the same tumours acquired at the department of dermatology. This procedure did not negatively impact the benefits of TDS referrals. The physicians at primary health care (PHC) were not required to be trained photographers to ensure sufficient TDS image quality. Nevertheless, the knowledge regarding technical difficulties could be used when training PHC staff. This, in turn, would further improve the image quality.
