TDP-43 as a potential biomarker for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Majumder V, et al. - The diagnostic utility of TDP-43 detected in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of subjects with frontotemporal dementia (FTD)-amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) spectrum disorder was evaluated through a systematic review and meta-analysis. It was observed that subjects with ALS had a statistically significantly higher level of TDP-43 in their CSF. The study findings suggested that in ALS subjects, TDP-43 could be a promising biomarker in these diseases.
