Fischbach-Boulanger C, et al. - Researchers intended to ascertain which sequence between T1 Weighted Imaging (T1WI) and T2 Weighted Imaging (T2WI) permitted the best visual evaluation of hippocampal atrophy in the case of Alzheimer's disease and MCI. Based on the results, it was reported that T2W images yielded a more adequate visual rating of hippocampal atrophy for both left and right hippocampus and a higher overall correlation with neuropsychological tests.
